Modern Experience
2016 to 2018
Modern Experience or ModX started as a thought excercise to envision what Revit could be in the future. The key drivers being the move to subscription and the move to a cloud connected world. We took the leap to think about the product from the model as the deliverable not documentation.
I was the lead for the the initiative and worked with designers across the organization. The inital investigation lead to the development of a sketch of the interface and a set of principles.
With the sketch completed we moved into planning for how we could evolve this very large desktop product into the new vision. With the vision as the north star I started to work with a software architect to implement the plan. At the same time we started a series of presentations to start to evolve the culture of the whole development organization. We held the notion that we had to tell people the vision nine times before they would start believing it and then they couuld begin to speak to the vision itself.
